Managing Users and Roles

You can change settings for V-Maestro users, including roles.

V-Maestro Roles

The following roles are available:

  • Administrator - has full privileges and permissions

  • Sub-Administrator - has partial Administrator privileges and permissions

  • Viewer - May only view

  • Migrator - has migration privileges and permissions

V-Maestro Users

Administrators and Sub-Administrators can create users and delete any user.

Sub-Administrators can create other Sub-Administrators, Migrators, Viewers, but not Administrators.

Sub-Administrators cannot delete Sub-Administrators and Administrators. Sub-Administrators cannot delete Sub-Administrators and Administrators.

You can mass delete users.

To Manage Users

  1. Click Manage.

  2. Click System>Users. The Users window is displayed.

  3. To modify user settings, click a user in the Name column. The User Settings window is displayed.

  4. Change any of the settings as required, then click Submit.

To Create a Subuser before they Register

  1. Click Manage.

  2. Click System>Users. The Users window is displayed.

  3. Click the Add icon at the top right of the page. The Register New User window opens.

  4. Optionally enter the first and last name of the user.

  5. Enter the email and password of the user (required). The password must be between 6 and 100 characters long.

  6. Optionally enter the role of the user. If you leave this blank, the role will be set to "pending."

  7. Confirm the email and password.

  8. Click Create.

  9. If the user is created successfully, click Close. The new user will appear in the table of the Users window.

To Delete a Subuser

  1. Click Manage.

  2. Click System>Users. The Users window is displayed.

  3. Select a user or select all users, and click the Delete icon.
